GreenTRIBOS at PolyTrib 2022

PolyTrib 2022 took place on December 4-5th 2022, for the first time in Stockholm, Sweden. The 4th of edition of its history marked the beginning of the collaboration between Slovenia and Sweden, so the conference will be held interchangeably between Slovenia and Sweden every two years from now on.
In the program were 36 talks on very diverse topics related to the Tribology of polymers: from elastomers to high-performance polymers, from cryogenic to high temperatures in dry and lubricated conditions. Researchers from institutions from 12 different countries presented the newest findings of their work. The conference was co-chaired by Prof. Mitjan Kalin and Prof. Nazanin Emami. Ten invited speakers were present during the two days of the conference and highlighted the prospects of research on Tribology of polymers.
Three GreenTRIBOS ESRs took the stage to present their recent findings and Nayan Dhakal was also involved with conference organization. Lucas Kneißl presented his work on “Short cellulose fiber composites as sustainable tribo-materials”, Pedro Martins Ferreira held a talk regarding “the lubrication of high-performance polymers with biodegradable esters” and Maksim Nikonovich’s presentation was entitled “mechanical and tribological characterization of commercially available PEEK composites for demanding environments”. It was a great opportunity to exchange opinions with researchers in this field from all around the world, and also to realize how broad this field is.
